We are very proud of our emerging artists and the body of work they produce.  Please check back here July 23, 2021 to view a whole new collection of art from emerging artists in our region.

About the Youth Art Gallery


May 1 – Online submissions open for the Virtual Youth Art Show
May 17 – Scholarship deadline
May 31 – Scholarship applicants are notified
June 15 – Deadline for online submissions to the Youth Art Show
June 21 – Notification of acceptance to the Virtual Youth Art Show
July 15 – Notification of Award winners
July 23-Aug 2, 2021 – Art will be available for viewing online


Youth Artists in grades 9-12 in the Sooke School District 62 (including homeschooled students) are encouraged to apply online between May 1 – June 15, 2021 for the SFAS online Youth Art Gallery. Each student is permitted to enter up to 3 pieces in digital format.

There is no entry fee for student art, but all students should read the SFAS Youth Show Eligibility and Guidelines before submitting.

Youth artists can add their names to our Youth Artist database and be emailed when the call for submissions opens in 2022.


The following awards are given to seven outstanding works of art:

1 Distinction – $250.00 Art store gift certificate
2 Honourable Mentions – $100.00 Art store gift certificate
3 Juror’s Choice awards – $50.00 Art store gift certificate
1 Looking Forward award –$50.00 Art store gift certificate

This year for Artz4Youth, we are hosting a free workshop opportunity for youth artists aged 13-19 called “Street Signs”. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 27 from 11 am to 3pm, at SEAPARC. For more info & to register, click here.
