Making a difference in your life and the life of your community
Research shows taking part in the arts – whether as an artist, a volunteer or simply as an audience – makes a difference in our quality of life. It builds our society, grows our economies, stimulates our minds and strengthens our self-esteem. The effects are seen across the spectrum: from at-risk youth to isolated seniors, the impacts are powerful and positive. You, as a volunteer, can help push that outward ripple of positive change. The Sooke Fine Arts Show is about friendships and fun, learning and leading, and most importantly about taking pride in our community. What we achieve here is extraordinary, and it’s the volunteers that make it happen.
