We are very proud of our emerging artists and the body of work they produce. Each year our Youth Art Gallery displays a whole new collection of art from emerging artists in our region.

About the Youth Art Gallery

2025 IMPORTANT DATES

May 1 – Online submissions open for the 2024 Youth Art Show
June 13 – Deadline for online submissions
June 21 – Notification of acceptance
July 15 – Notification of award winners (TBC)
July 26-Aug 5, 2025 – The 2025 show opens to the public

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Youth Artists in grades 9-12 in the Sooke School District 62 (including homeschooled students) are encouraged to apply online between May 1 – June 15, 2025 for the SFAS online Youth Art Gallery. Each student is permitted to enter up to 3 pieces in digital format.

There is no entry fee for student art, but all students should read the SFAS Youth Show Eligibility and Guidelines before submitting.

The call for submissions opens May 1, 2025.

YOUTH ART AWARDS

The following awards are given to seven outstanding works of art:

1 Distinction – $250.00 Art store gift certificate
2 Honourable Mentions – $100.00 Art store gift certificate
3 Juror’s Choice awards – $50.00 Art store gift certificate
1 Inspiration award –$50.00 Art store gift certificate

YOUTH ART SCHOLARSHIP

The Youth Art Scholarship Award is given out each year to assist young artists in pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts. Click here for more information.

VOLUNTEERING

We welcome youth volunteers! We are pleased to provide confirmation letters for fulfilling high school volunteer requirements. Please contact the SFAS office for more information: 250-642-7256 / sfas@sookefinearts.com.
