About the Society

The Sooke Fine Arts Society is a not-for-profit organization created to encourage and promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the arts by organizing an annual art show, as well as hosting public learning opportunities to demonstrate artistic technique and expertise. The annual art show, held at the end of July and early August of each year, is Vancouver Island’s premier adjudicated art show. YOUTH ART SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Youth Art Scholarship Award was established in 2014 to assist young artists in pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts, and has been made possible through private donations and events. We look forward to making higher education in the arts accessible to many more talented young artists. The Youth Art Scholarship Award, valued at $1,500, is selected at the end of May each year and presented at the Artist Celebration Event during the show.

The 2025 submission deadline for applicants will be open from May 1-15, 2025.
Successful applicants will be notified on or before May 31, 2025.
