Youth Art Winners Display

In 2020, due to the unique circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, youth artists can submit to the 2020 Virtual Youth Art Gallery from their own homes through our online system (see instructions below).

We are very proud of our emerging artists and the body of work they produce! Acceptable artwork includes both 2D and 3D mediums. Awards will be given to seven outstanding works of art:

  • First place – $250.00 Art store gift certificate
  • 2 Runners up – $100.00 Art store gift certificate
  • 3 Juror’s Choice awards – $50.00 Art store gift certificate

Youth Artists in the School District 62 (including homeschooled students) are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Virtual Youth Art Gallery. Each student is permitted to enter up to 3 pieces in digital format as described on the submission page. There is no entry fee for student art.

IMPORTANT: All youth artists are required to read the SFAS 2020 Youth Show Eligibility and Submission Guidelines prior to submitting.

Students whose art has been selected for the show will be notified by email. For questions or assistance with your submission, please consult the Sooke Fine Arts Society via email.

The Youth Arts Scholarship Award was established in 2014 to assist young artists in pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts, and has been made possible through private donations and events. We look forward to making higher education in the arts accessible to many more talented young artists.

The 2020 Awards will be presented on the evening of Saturday, July 25th at the Sooke Fine Arts Show Artist Celebration Evening, a gala celebration to honour our 2020 accepted artists and award winners.

The 2020 application deadline for the Youth Art Scholarship Award will be May 15, 2020. To apply, click here. All applicants will be notified by June 3, 2020.

Please Note: As a result of the changes to this year’s show due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will be waiving the usual requirement for scholarship applicants to have 2 – 3 submissions in the Youth Art Show. However, we encourage youth artists to submit to the 2020 Virtual Youth Art Gallery!
