About the Society

The Sooke Fine Arts Society is a non-profit organization created to encourage and promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the arts by organizing an annual art show, as well as hosting public learning opportunities to demonstrate artistic technique and expertise. The annual art show, held the end of July and early August of each year, is Vancouver Island’s premier adjudicated art show. It brings artists, volunteers, visitors and art patrons together in an 11-day celebration of the arts.

Our 2019 Annual General Meeting was held on October 24, 2019 in the Ballroom at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort. Thank you to all who attended.

As a non-profit organization and registered charity, the Sooke Fine Arts Society depends on contributions from the community to produce the Sooke Fine Arts Show. Thanks to the support of our volunteers, sponsors, donors and advertisers, our mission of promoting regional artists and nurturing an interest in the arts throughout the wider community is brought to life each year. Charitable tax receipts are available for donations above $10.


It means the wealth of artistic talent in the region can shine.
It means audiences who might never otherwise have the chance can learn about, engage with and fall in love with art.
It means encouraging young artists to develop their own talents.
It means bringing a community together.

Sooke Fine Arts Society is the Recipient of Two Not-For-Profit Business Excellence Awards

The Sooke Fine Arts Society is honoured to be the recipient of the 2016 Not-For-Profit Business Excellence Award, presented by Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Sooke 2-For-1 Pizza, and the 2014 Not-For-Profit Business Excellence award, presented by the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Sooke Harbour House.

Our small army of approximately 300 volunteers devotes more than 10,000 hours annually to the Sooke Fine Arts Show and its related programs, out of a genuine love of community and the arts. To all our volunteers, and our many supporters in the business community, thank you and congratulations!
