Youth Opportunities

We have a number of exciting opportunities for youth to get involved in arts!

Youth Art Winners Display

The Youth Arts Scholarship Award was established in 2014 to assist young artists in pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts, and has been made possible through private donations and events. We look forward to making higher education in the arts accessible to many more talented young artists.

2019 Awards were presented on the evening of Saturday, July 27th at the Sooke Fine Arts Show Artist Celebration Evening, a gala celebration to honour our 2019 accepted artists and award winners.

The 2020 application deadline for the Youth Art Scholarship Award will be mid-May, 2020. Stay tuned here in Spring, 2020 for application information. All applicants will be notified by the end of May, 2020.

The Youth Art Gallery houses up to 200 pieces of student art, selected from 4 local schools, framed, matted and professionally displayed. We are very proud of our emerging artists and the body of work they produce! Artists of all ages are invited to submit work to the show. Acceptable artwork includes both 2D and 3D mediums. Awards will be given to seven outstanding works of art. Submitting artwork for the Youth Art Gallery is a different process than that for the main gallery, as we encourage students to submit through their school art teacher.

Please let your teacher know you would like to submit. If you are homeschooled, email the office at or call us at 250-642-7256 and we’ll get you in touch with the Youth Art Gallery Team Lead.
