Mural at the Hope Centre

Coming Home - Hope Centre

Outside the Hope Centre in Sooke sits an 8′ x 48′ mural entitled Coming Home, created by four young Aboriginal artists: Natassia Davies, a T’Sou-ke artist born in Sooke; Dahlila Charlie, a member of the Beecher Bay First Nation; Jesse Campbell, a Métis artist born and raised in Victoria; and Nicole Neidhardt, a Navajo artist studying at the University of Victoria.

The mural transitions from the jumbled elements of modern society, on through a journey and on to a pastoral place of heritage and connection to the land. The Hope Centre opened in 2015 with an initiative to provide affordable housing opportunities for local youth.
