Kody the Spirit Bear at the Sooke Region Museum

Spirit Bear - Sooke Region Museum 2

Kody the spirit bear sits outside the Sooke Region Museum in Sooke. The statue was created as part of the “Spirit Bears in the City” project in 2006, where dozens of blank fibreglass bears were painted by local businesses, displayed around Greater Victoria for a few months, then auctioned off for charity.

Kody was sponsored by the Sooke Program for the Arts, Sooke Lioness Lions Club, and Sooke Lions Club. Kody was painted by local artists Gene Sebelius and Bonnie Spencer.
